Our story

Built in Bengaluru, for Indian hospitals

We spent six months in hospital store rooms watching procurement officers juggle WhatsApp, Excel, and sticky notes. SmartSupply exists to change that — one hospital at a time.

The problem we're solving

Indian hospital supply chains run on informal systems. A storekeeper receives a delivery, counts items manually, and types the count into a WhatsApp message. A purchase manager approves orders by replying to that message. Stock levels live in an Excel sheet that someone updates — maybe.

The result: expired stock, stockouts during emergencies, and a procurement audit that takes three days to reconstruct from WhatsApp history. We've seen it at hospitals across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

What SmartSupply replaces

One-tap digital approval with audit trail

  • Excel stock sheets

Live stock levels with confidence scores

  • Phone calls for delivery status

    Instant confirmation with photo proof

  • 3-day procurement audit

    Real-time reports, exportable any time

How we build

Three principles guide every product decision we make.

Mobile-first, always

Every screen is designed for a 375px phone screen first. Hospital staff don't sit at desks — they move.

Built for DPDP, honestly

Patient-adjacent data stays in India. A consent ledger, quiet hours, and erasure on request are built; a self-service data export is not, and we say so.

Reliability over features

A hospital can't have a procurement system that goes down. Rather than quote an uptime figure we have not earned yet, we publish a live status page at /status.

The team

SmartSupply is a joint initiative between Bhavani Enterprise — a Bengaluru-based medical supplies distributor — and a small engineering team that believes Indian hospital supply chains deserve better tooling.

Supplier partner

Bhavani Enterprise

Medical supplies distributor working across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. Our founding supplier partner and the reason SmartSupply understands the supplier side of procurement.

Pilot hospital

Sparsh Hospital, Bengaluru

Our intended Phase 1 pilot hospital. The pilot has not gone live yet, and nothing on this site is a report of it. When it runs, what broke will be published alongside what worked.
